Archangel

The drinks were a bit pricey compared with other places, but the Archangel is chic and upmarket, with cosy little side rooms off the corridor. We had a good evening meal upstairs on the mezzanine. The staff were attentive and service was good. Our rump steaks were a little tough, though we ate them. We mentioned it to the staff and appreciated that they took one steak off the bill. Everything else was delicious. We do recommend giving it a try.

Our first stay, after visiting the pub several times over the years, was very comfortable and spotless. There was fresh coffee in the room, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Sunday afternoon and evening, and are planning another stay.

We had a lovely dinner with live music on Valentines evening, then a great breakfast and delicious Sunday roast the next day. In town, we also caught the children's pancake races and found amazing shops run by friendly, inspiring owners. Frome has a warm, artistic and ethical feel, and The Archangel fits right in, with quirky decor, beautiful angel murals and real fires. Everyone on staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. After a stressful few days of moving while waiting for our new house, that bath was divine. The room was beautiful, especially the larger bed, and breakfast was amazing. We've stayed at The Archangel before and loved coming back. As last time, the service was excellent, and the staff were warm, helpful and accommodating all the way through.
