We felt at home in Rose Cottage almost as soon as Nyra welcomed us. It was spotless, which matters a lot to us, and the bed was really comfortable. The cottage is nicely decorated and furnished with good quality pieces, and had everything we needed for our two weeks, from 31 May to 14 June 2024. It’s very peaceful and private, with secure parking at the back, even though the shops are only a couple of minutes away, perhaps less. There’s so much to do nearby that we’d love a longer stay next time. We can’t wait to come back next year. Thanks so much, Nyra and Stephen. Rachel and Rod, South Australia

The cottage is cosy and has everything you might need. It’s in a lovely quiet spot, yet the local Coop, pubs, restaurants and other shops are only minutes away. Nyra gave us a warm, friendly welcome when we arrived and explained what we needed to know. She also said we could contact her anytime if anything else came up.

The cottage itself is great, but the owner was very rude after she had our money. The house tour rambled on without explaining how to use the oven, and when I asked for help with it, she was rude. She also said the shower was broken, so it was useless for the whole holiday. Maybe she was “too busy preparing for another dinner party.” This is what she wrote: “May I politely suggest that you READ the instruction manual for the oven which I pointed out when you checked in. (DIDNT) You have clearly 'inadvertantly' (SPELLED BADLY) switched off the oven at the MAIN. If you read the oven manual in the black file provided (electrical goods) you can see to re-set the Timer which you turned off when you switched off the MAINS oven. The oven works - but you must read the instruction manual as I am unable to DROP EVERYTHING to be with you!!!!“ There was mouldy jam in the fridge too. I think her husband Stephen seems nice, though.
