The welcome is a big part of why I keep coming back to Fulbeck's Hare and Hounds. The staff are warm, the service is faultless, and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. Prices feel very reasonable for the quality, and there’s more on the menu than the usual pub classics. I’ve stopped here for lunch three or four times while taking the scenic drive from Lincoln to London. I like it enough to take the slower route through Grantham and time the trip for lunch. This visit, I had the homemade steak and ale pie of the day. The meat was tender and tasty, with a choice of potatoes and seasonal vegetables, plus a generous helping of delicious gravy. I’ve had it with mash before, which goes especially well with the gravy. This time I chose the hand-cut chips and was glad I did. A glass of lager shandy went down nicely too. Thinking back, every meal I’ve had here has been good. The piping-hot leek and potato soup was lovely, and I’ve really enjoyed the roast salmon special twice. I’ll choose that again when it’s back on the menu.

We came as a big family group yesterday for my grandma’s 80th birthday, and everyone chose a Sunday roast. The beef was lovely and pink in the middle, and its gravy was just right. Some of us ordered dessert too. The portions were very generous, and those were delicious as well. We’d come back and would definitely recommend it.

After more than 25 years of visiting the Hare and Hounds through different owners, I find the current offering really disappointing, sadly. The food can be moderate or good depending on what you pick, so it’s inconsistent. Front of house is lacking.

I had a lovely evening meal here, and they catered for my allergies. Breakfast the next morning was good too. The B&B is such a nice place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it. All the rooms are beautifully decorated. Mine had underfloor heating and a bath in the en-suite.

The staff were the best part of our Sunday lunch last weekend. My girlfriend has several food intolerances, and they were incredibly accommodating. The chef adjusted the food to suit her, making it a really nice meal instead of just taking things off the plate as other places have done. The food was incredible, and the pub itself is very nice, with a lovely atmosphere and ambiance. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Well done to everyone.
