The atmosphere was pleasant, but as a coeliac diner I felt like a second-class customer. The gluten-free choices seemed like an afterthought: supermarket GF Peroni and a fish and chips GF dish that meant swapping out the chips for potato. It was basically the sort of thing I’d make for myself when eating alone after work. Having GF options on offer isn’t the same as making proper gluten-free dishes that feel as considered as the rest of the menu my companions enjoyed.

We found this place while staying near Gairloch and came for dinner on Saturday evening. Everything was absolutely delicious. The mussels in the photo were huge, and the fresh fish and chips and venison were great too. The staff were very good.

We both enjoyed our dishes, haggis neeps and tatties and the venison burger. A lovely meal, and I’d definitely recommend it to others.

The staff were so accommodating when my wife and I ate at The Old Inn last evening. We brought our dog, who sat next to our table in the bar, and both staff on duty checked if he needed a water bowl. The food was excellent, and we’d certainly visit again.

We ate here and really enjoyed the food. Good selection and a good location. We sat outside, and would have stayed longer if there’d been availability.
