We stayed during June’s worst rainy week of the year, and having such a good B&B made a big difference. The hosts were genuinely nice and fantastic. Breakfast came in a bag outside the door every morning, and it was perfect. The price also included a mini fridge full of drinks and snacks, which was brilliant. Before we left for home, the car battery went flat. Mike gave us a jump start without hesitation. We’d definitely recommend the place.

The owner greeted us on arrival and explained the facilities and nearby area, and we had a lovely couple of nights with a cute view of the lake and great hospitality. After we’d arrived, we had to change the bedding because my other half hadn’t mentioned something beforehand. It was changed promptly, and I slept like a log. Onsite parking, a relaxed lounge and quiet rooms made it easy to come and go, then unwind after walking and driving around. Breakfast was scrumptious and arrived promptly. The mini fridge was well stocked, and we were encouraged to take snacks out if we wanted. It was my first trip to the lakes, and I couldn’t have found a more enjoyable base for exploring and resting.

Our first visit to beautiful Ullswater Lake was lovely, and we’ll definitely come back to the area. This guest house, though, won’t be on our list. We got lost and clearly turned into the owner’s car park by mistake. He was no help at all and was incredibly rude to me, my partner and our two young children. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

The lake view and brilliant breakfast were highlights, and everyone was really friendly. Mike came out to greet us and made us feel welcome straight away. He was very helpful and did all he could to make the stay memorable. Excellent place to stay, would highly recommend.
