Crook A Beck

We barely needed the car all week, with lovely walks starting right outside the beautifully situated, well-equipped cottage. The scenery around it is gorgeous. Judith and Stephen were perfect hosts, available with advice but never intrusive. Just back from an amazing week, and I can't think of a thing that could be improved.

The Coast to Coast path is effectively right here, and it’s also handy for walks up to Boardale Hause, Place Fell, Angletarn Pikes and Brock Crags. There’s adequate parking, too. We stayed two nights, Wednesday and Thursday, with my great friends Patrick, Joyce and David, and all agreed we’d like to return soon. Adam was tremendously friendly, the rural setting is beautiful, and the accommodation is high quality. My room had two single beds, bedside tables, a hanging rail, chest of drawers, three opening windows, a comfortable chair and a well-appointed modern bathroom. The lovely wooden windowsills stood out, and the drench shower was very welcome during the heatwave. Breakfast was home cooked and lovely. A first-class place that still feels welcoming. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

The bedrooms are fresh, new and clean, and the views and location are amazing. We had a lovely breakfast, too. Fantastic host, so welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble.

The hosts are such lovely people, warm and friendly, and the cottage has everything you’d want for a country break. It’s in a wonderful location and is beautiful inside. The only trouble is having to leave and go home eventually :) We’ll be back soon.
