OYO Clovenfords Hotel

We popped in for a quick drink at the last minute and ended up staying for dinner. The bar is lovely and nicely decorated, with a good atmosphere and lots of people enjoying themselves. We had our dog with us and it was no problem, and there were a few other dogs there too. The food was incredible, with large portions of tasty, nicely presented dishes. There’s a great menu with lots of variety. We’ll definitely be back soon.

We loved the walks by the river, and the hotel feels like a real village gathering place. The owner is warm and clearly puts a lot of care into running it. Our room was clean, nicely furnished and decorated, and breakfast was freshly cooked at home. There’s parking on site too. We’ll definitely come back.

There’s bike storage, and we found everything we needed in the room. The bed was really comfortable, with plenty of hot water for a bath. The room had plenty of character, though the owners are still updating things bit by bit since they’re fairly new. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and efficient, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The homemade bread and pizza bases were a treat, and there was a good choice at the bar.

The staff were so welcoming, that’s what made our stay. We stopped here on the way to Edinburgh, about a 50-minute drive away. The rooms were spacious and very clean, though a little worn, and good value. We ate well, and the fry-up at breakfast was superb. Really friendly place.
