The pub has plenty of different spots to sit: a quieter area, a back room showing sport, a covered space outside at the rear, and lots of benches and activities out front when it's sunny and busy. We stopped in with four people for Sunday roast on our way home after a weekend in Aberdaron. The service was first class, and so was the food. We piled our plates with potatoes, vegetables, gravy and sauces, along with the biggest roast option, listed as three slices but really more than that. It was delicious and worth every penny.

There's loads of seating for different moods and times, whether you're after a quiet drink, food after the beach or an evening meal dressed up a bit. The staff are friendly, the food's great, and it's a fantastic pub with everything you need. Please bring back the silent disco!

The burger was excellent, and the rest of us without dietary issues ate well. But we won't be back, and can't recommend the place, because the handling of dietary needs and allergens was so lax. We were eight people having dinner on a Saturday. We got a table without booking, which was a good start. Two people in our group were vegan and were upset to learn that the fried food was cooked in beef tallow. After a confusing exchange, we found out there was a separate gluten-free fryer using vegetable oil, so they ordered vegan lasagne with chips. The lasagne arrived topped with real dairy cheese. They asked the waiter to check with the kitchen, but he looked uncomfortable, walked away and never came back. Since we'd already paid when ordering, they tried to eat around the cheese. Luckily, this was a moral preference rather than an allergy. Another person ordered a pork dish marked as having a gluten-free option and requested it that way. It came with pineapple deep-fried in gluten batter and covered in a strange, very sweet treacle sauce. He didn't think it was worth chasing the waiter who had disappeared, so ate around the allergen.

The place feels warm and homely, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We've visited more than once and everyone was happy with their food each time, whether it was the brilliant Sunday roast or something from the regular menu.

It's a very big pub, with a pool table and two dartboards. The lounge is decorated really nicely, while the bar gets lively when sport is on. My wife loved the Ocean Pie. To reach the car park, take the side road.
