We'd definitely like to return to finish exploring the beautiful Dales. Our week at 5 Lock View Nordic Spa was one of our best cottage stays. It's dog friendly and fitted out to a very high standard, with two spacious, well presented en suite bedrooms. The lounge looks over the canal, and with the Juliet balcony doors open, the birdsong was incredible. The owner gave us a very warm welcome and advice about the cottage. The kitchen-diner had all the utensils, dishes, and electrical appliances we could wish for, plus a laundry cupboard with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside there's a seating area beside the hot tub, sauna, and chill plunge tub.

The Jacuzzi was heavenly, and it's available between 8am and 9pm so it won't disturb the neighbours outside those hours. Every room in this stunning self catering cottage overlooking the Lock is designed and decorated to a high specification. It’s dog friendly too, a huge plus for us since we never go anywhere without our pooch. The king size plus bed was so comfortable, and the views are amazing. Late in the evening we watched a display of crows in the trees. There are a few steps to the lounge and more to the bedroom, which could be an issue for anyone with mobility difficulties. Even so, we couldn't recommend the place highly enough. Skipton is the nearest town, about a two-hour drive from Newcastle.

I'm a bit late writing this. We stayed for three nights at the beginning of June with my partner and our Labrador. It's dog friendly, beautiful, and so relaxing. The hot tub was a special treat. We don't usually book places with hot tubs, but this one was nice, clean, and just what we were looking for. The copper bath in the bedroom was the best, and the apartment was lovely, comfortable, and peaceful. Thanks for the warm welcome in person, and for the lovely bottle of wine and chocolates. It's a beautiful place overlooking the canal. We'll be back!
