Dunruadh Cottage

We really enjoyed our two nights in this cosy, lovely cottage. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. I also loved the decor and the big windows looking out over the loch and mountains.

The kitchen was gorgeous and had far more equipment than I’d expect in a self catering place. The cottage is only a 10 minute drive from Loch Lomond, and its design makes clever use of the space. We spent a girly weekend here and found it very quaint. The heating system was a bit of a puzzle, and we had to watch how much water we used. Some furniture felt old fashioned, and there wasn’t really anywhere comfortable to sit. Still, it was a lovely place for a few days.

The view of Ben Lomond from the front room is breathtaking. The nature reserve makes for a lovely evening walk, and from Shore Wood at the end, the views are sublime on a good night. Dunruadh Cottage is well stocked with everything you need, and it’s a great base for exploring Loch Lomond and the wider National Park. The hosts give you your space but are close by if you need them. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We brought our little westie along, and the garden was great. The house has lovely features, too. We arrived after dark, so only saw the view from the cottages in the morning, and wow, it was stunning. Lovely place, would highly recommend.
