The food was a highlight, especially breakfast, which everyone enjoyed. You could have eggs cooked the way you like them. We were here for friends’ wedding and had a fantastic day and night. The hotel has been recently updated, with lovely decor, spacious rooms, and a beautifully redone bathroom and shower. Staff from the cleaners to management were hardworking and always around when needed. We’d definitely stay again.

The welcome was good and the accommodation itself was reasonable, but the shared areas were heated even though it was warm outside. Dinner and breakfast service felt very amateur, and the food seemed partly brought in and partly made on site. It was fairly expensive for what you got. Coffee came in a teapot at breakfast, which was odd. I couldn’t get a VAT receipt when leaving and was asked to email for one. I’ve sent two emails without a reply, so I wouldn’t return. There are better run hotels in the area.

We came for a group meal and didn’t see the rooms. They put us in a room where all 32 of us could sit together, and the service was very good considering the size of the group. I had steak and chips with peppercorn sauce, followed by crumble and crème anglaise. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything was lovely. No photos, we ate it too quickly. I’d recommend visiting.

The sandwiches were delicious, and the homemade scones and cakes were lovely. My mother and I both agreed it was the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had, and we’ve tried quite a few. The staff were so attentive. We’ll be back, and I’d definitely recommend it.

The grounds were lovely and the room was comfortable. We stayed Saturday 11th April 26, ahead of going to see a show, and were welcomed warmly by very friendly, accommodating staff. Before we arrived I called about food because my husband has a PEG feed fitted after losing part of his stomach and intestines, and can only manage small amounts of soft food. They didn’t usually make spaghetti bolognaise, but when I explained, the chef offered to go to the shop for ingredients. My husband was delighted with the tea, and the generous portion meant he could eat what he was able to. We’d happily stay again for another show and highly recommend the hotel. Thanks for a pleasant stay. Mrs and Mrs Willis.
