The children loved my daughter’s 5th birthday party from beginning to end, but the problems behind the scenes were shocking. We were left to inflate the bouncy castle ourselves after the company said they didn’t have time. The floors and tables were dirty, and the cloth on the buffet table was so filthy that I had to ask for a replacement. I paid over £100 for food for 22 children and got only a few chicken nuggets and chips. I’d asked for a child-friendly buffet, with things like ham and cheese sandwiches, hot dogs, crisps and sausage rolls. When I complained, they said that was what I’d requested and refused a refund. Most of the staff were argumentative and had a terrible attitude. Scott, aka Happy, was the exception. He was friendly, apologetic and did what he could to make a stressful situation easier. I can’t thank him enough. The toilets were disgusting too. They were broken and wouldn’t flush, the doors and handles were damaged, the doors wouldn’t lock, and toilet roll was left lying around. There was wood chipping everywhere. This place has gone downhill over the past few weeks. The service, staff and hygiene were appalling. I won’t book here again or recommend it to anyone.

It was lovely and warm inside on a cold, wet night. I came for my first open Mike night and had a great time, with a friendly little crowd and enthusiastic staff. I’m looking forward to coming back for another night. I didn’t eat or stay in the rooms, so I can’t comment on either.

I spent nine days here while my wife was in hospital. The room was clean, comfortable and in good condition, and the staff were very friendly and supportive. A positive stay overall.

This used to be a nice place with good food, but it’s gone downhill. I’ve been a few times lately and the staff and kitchen seem to have no idea how to cook. Twice I tried to order a meal and had to send it back because it was inedible. Sorry to say it, but I’d give it a miss.
