The three of us stayed here before tackling the final stretch of our coast to coast walk. After a long day on foot, it was exactly what we needed. The hosts were kind and helpful, the food and drinks were good, and there were darts and a pool table to enjoy.

The pub itself was cosy and the welcome was warm, but dinner was a letdown. The lasagna was mostly béchamel with only one or two pasta sheets, and the garlic bread was barely cooked. It’s disappointing, since the food used to be excellent.

After walking through Storm Amy, we got a really warm welcome and were looked after well. Dinner was great, and the bed was comfortable.

A quiet, comfortable single room at a great price, with a secure spot for my bike. I was cycling through the beautiful NY Moors and stayed for one night. Tony cooked a lovely meal: vegetable soup, then lamb with mash, vegetables and plenty of gravy, followed by brownie and ice cream. I could also order a packed breakfast or lunch, which made an early start the next morning easy. A happy place.

The pub sits on a very quiet street with lovely views, and room 7 was comfortable enough for me to get a great night's sleep. Tony and Yvonne made our break feel special. They and the rest of the staff were lovely, helpful with everything, and clearly well liked by the locals. At breakfast, the other guests were praising them too.
