Maldron Hotel Glasgow City

The rooms are fantastic, with premium beds, and were spotless when I arrived. Free biscuits and the first class comforts keep this as my hotel of choice when I’m in Glasgow for work. Service could be much better, though. I’ve stayed several times for work, and getting dinner can mean standing there with the menu until someone notices you. The service desk checks you in quickly and accurately, but the staff have all the charisma of a dishcloth.

There’s plenty of shelf space in the bathroom and enough room for everything you need on an 8-night stay. The room layout and furnishings worked really well, and the staff were polite and helpful. The location is perfect: one block from the airport bus and within a 10 minute walk of both train stations and the subway. Lots of good restaurants, shops and theatres are nearby. I’m strongly recommending the hotel to friends who’ll be travelling soon.

The rooms were spotless and well equipped, and breakfast had plenty of choice. We paid £85 for two people including breakfast on a Friday night during Celtic Connections, which was excellent value. Online check-in and checkout were very easy at this centrally located hotel.

We chose Maldron Glasgow after several excellent stays at the Maldron Newcastle. Arriving by train and going to the Theatre Royal, we found the hotel ideally placed for both. The room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly. Dinner at the restaurant and breakfast the next morning were both very good. The whole family enjoyed the food, including our two teenagers, which was a win. I’d absolutely recommend it and look forward to visiting again.
