Being next to George Square was convenient, but the apartment was shabby and I wouldn't call it a perfect choice. The bedroom carpet was filthy and needs replacing, the shower was visibly moldy, the windows were corroded and wouldn't close properly, and the blinds wouldn't stay up. There's a long list of rules telling guests not to use the oven and to rely on the microwave, even suggesting we put on an extra jumper instead of using the heating. By the end I was wearing a jumper, two blankets and my coat indoors. I honestly don't know what I paid over £100 a night for. There was no comfort, cleanliness, service or accountability. Staff were essentially non-existent, and when they were around they were dismissive and rude. I got a partial refund, for 2 days maybe, but I'd run a mile even if offered the place free. The main living area was huge, with two radiators, though one was warm and the other only a bit warmer. After 7 days the heating stopped working and the room became absolutely freezing. When I went to "reception" about maintenance, they said the maintenance man had "passed away". I'm sorry for his family, but I don't think that should have been said to a guest. They could simply have explained no one was available because of a situation. They said there was no one else and left it at that. I got no solution until I wrote directly to the manager, who then replied that they could change my room. The bathroom was the only source of heat, so I had to leave its door open to get a little warmth.

The location was great if you're not bringing a car. That's about the only good thing I can say. The apartment felt uncomfortable and somehow brutal, with bare walls and prints of a barricade and a telephone pole for artwork. It felt like being transported back to East Berlin. We had no bowls, and when we turned on the oven, it smelled awful. Cooking was the whole reason we chose this over a hotel. There was never anyone at reception, and over our four nights the room wasn't serviced at all. It felt more like an airbnb, which isn't what you pay for with a serviced apartment. We did get the deposit back, but it was a lot of money to pay upfront.

We were right in the heart of Glasgow, on the block with George Square and just a block from Queen Street Station. The apartment had everything we needed, including a washing machine, so we could do our laundry. We made dinner there on both nights, which was a cozy treat. A superb stay all around.

We really enjoyed the apartment, both at the start of our holiday and again at the end, and were pleased with its facilities each time. We'd recommend it. Our only difficulty was finding our way around Glasgow, with so many streets closed for redevelopment after the fire near Central Station.

Our rooftop apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed for a city break. The location was wonderful, with train stations, shops and plenty of places to eat right nearby. Beds were comfy, towels were decent, and the wine, water, tea, coffee and coffee machine were nice touches. Staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn't use the balcony because it was closed for health and safety reasons, which was a shame in the lovely weather. It would have been nice to sit out with our complimentary wine. We stayed in late September and arrived to a very hot apartment, with the heating on and sun coming through the glass. It cooled down once we turned off the heaters and the sun went down, but the bedrooms stayed warm. There's no air con, so I imagine high summer could make it very uncomfortable.
