Queen Margaret Apartment - Botanic Gardens West End

The house was comfortable for our whole family, with room for eight and three bathrooms. We enjoyed the large living and dining room, especially gathering there by the gas fire and TV, and relatives were able to come visit. Kelvingrove Art Gallery, the Botanic Gardens, and the restaurants on Byres Road are all within walking distance. We landed early from a transatlantic flight on a wet day at the end of April, and the owner greeted us warmly with the heat on. We got a thorough tour and instructions for everything. A few things went wrong during the stay, including the hot water heater, but they were sorted out quickly and with good humour. We’d definitely come back.

The basement setting meant the views were limited, but the location suited us perfectly. The beds were comfortable, and we all slept well despite the mini hurricane that passed through Glasgow during our stay. My sister booked the apartment so the family could gather for my father’s memorial. With generous rooms and good quality furnishings and fittings, it made an ideal, comfortable base for everyone. Highly recommended.

Graham’s suggestions for bars and restaurants around the West End and the city were excellent. We were a mothers and daughters group with quite a range of ages, and found something for everyone. The younger ones made the most of the nearby cocktail bars and stayed out later than we did. The Queen Margaret apartment was beautifully equipped and easily accommodated all seven of us. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and especially the sitting room were wonderful. After a rainy Saturday, heading back around 4:00pm for nibbles and prosecco by the fire was just lovely. We arrived late Friday and received a very warm welcome. Graham’s attention to detail and local advice were both fantastic. Two nights didn’t feel like enough. It’s a brilliant place for a weekend or longer in Glasgow, and I’d highly recommend it.

A small, pleasant place to live, with friendly local convenience shops. Kelvin walking is only a few yards away if you want a quick escape.
