The room was lovely, the hotel felt cosy, and the staff couldn’t do enough to help. We stayed last weekend in January 2026 and ate in the restaurant. The oysters were tasty, the duck salad was amazing, and both the T bone veal and steak were delicious. The bar was well stocked, and the manager was serving and made everyone feel welcome, as did the local people there. Breakfast was excellent too, and the waiting staff were so polite. We’ll definitely return. If you’re passing, it’s well worth a try.

I stopped for coffee on my way to work after a drive. The coffee was delicious, and the guy made it just how I described. It was only £2 because I had my reusable cup in the car. A great way to start the day.

The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive, and our food arrived at just the right time. The Cullen Skink was probably the best I’ve had: chunky without being too chunky, and not overly salty. I’d happily come back for another meal.

The staff made us feel so welcome and were incredibly kind. I had the Fish and Chips for New Year’s Eve dinner at the Kirkhouse Inn, and it was delicious. That was some of the best food and service I’ve ever had, so the five stars are well deserved.
