On my Lands End to John o'groats cycle, I stayed in B&Bs and camped along the way. This was the priciest of the 12 B&Bs I used across the country, at £75. I was told breakfast was a full English, but not that it was vegetarian. I didn't mind that, though I did feel it was deceitful not to mention it. The rooms weren't en-suite and had no TVs. While my bike was in the back garden, her dog chewed through my water bottle, and nobody offered compensation. It also tried to chew my travel solar panel. The woman kept going on about some guy called jesus and his dad 🤷‍♂️

The location works well for visiting Glastonbury: there’s off-road parking, and Challice Well garden is about a 10-minute walk away. The Tor is perhaps 15 minutes on foot, while the town centre and its attractions are about 10 minutes in the other direction. We got five-star treatment on arrival, and the B&B has very reasonable rates.

I love this place. It feels like a real haven when you're weighed down or need some healing. The rooms are bright and airy, and breakfast is hearty, made with a lot of love and served with a cheerful smile.
