Highland Bear Lodge & Woodland Bear Huts

Rach was warm and welcoming in all our communication, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We felt very well looked after, and appreciated the personal touches. The B&B was beautiful and comfortable, just like the photos, and the location gave us both easy access to everything and real peace and quiet. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back.

The view was incredible, and the lodge was quiet and comfortable. I really liked the room decor, while my husband enjoyed sitting by the fire and chatting with other guests. We arrived late, but self check-in was available, and they answered my email quickly when I worried about getting there late. The place is a little off the beaten path, as we expected, though not too far from the tourist stops. The room included a nice continental breakfast. My only complaint was that I found it difficult to set the shower temperature, though that may have been my own mistake. I'd recommend it for a peaceful, quiet stay.

The range of drinks was exceptional, though we skipped breakfast in the end and ate in town instead because it wasn't very good. Our downstairs bedroom was fantastic, but noise from the guests above us woke us earlier than planned. We could hear their toilet visits and flushes, footsteps and muffled conversations, as their bathroom must have been right over our bed. I'd definitely choose an upstairs bedroom. The place itself was amazing, and I wish we'd stayed more than one night. The long gravel drive was a little scary to drive up, and the middle section has so many potholes that it really needs repairs.

It was a real pleasure staying here. The place was wonderful and very clean, and our room was beautifully decorated. We were really disappointed by the breakfast, though. It didn't match the pictures at all, which was such a pity.
