For just £3-4 more, you can get a room in a proper hotel. Here, it's a shared house where every room has been fitted with a small shower and toilet, and sound carries easily, so there's not much privacy. Calling the breakfast 'included' is overstating it. At this price, I don't think you're getting value for money. If the rate were two-thirds of what it is now, you could say, 'I'm getting what I've paid for.'

My daughter and I are from Argentina and spent three nights at this house while touring the United Kingdom. It had the basics, which was what we needed. After a difficult few days in Ilford, we were especially grateful for the peace and cleanliness here in Gloucester. In Ilford, the other guests were very noisy, there were rat traps in the room, and a bathroom leak flooded the whole apartment. They didn't even move us to another room. Here, we felt peaceful and had privacy. The lady who welcomed us was especially kind, and even drove us to the train station for free. The place isn't full of luxury, but luxury wasn't what we needed. We needed friendly, cordial treatment, and we got it. My daughter and I still remember this house and its owner, even though it has been ten years since it opened. I felt I owed her a review.
