Beatrice and Joel made us feel very welcome, with thoughtful touches like fresh flowers in the room, lovely bath towels and Easter eggs. The garden out front was pretty too. Breakfast was wonderful, with gluten-free options, and they also gave us plates for takeaway food. There’s off-road parking to the left of the house. Drive through the gates and past the holly arch. The place had new owners from April 2019.

At £55 for a single, it was far too expensive, making it the poorest and priciest B&B of my trip. The TV needed retuning every time I switched it on, and there was no Wi-Fi in the room. The room itself was okay, just a little tired. At a reasonable price, those things probably wouldn’t have bothered me.

A nice place to stay, and the owner was especially nice.
