The Harbour

The food was good, though a bit pricey, but the way the evening ended was a huge disappointment. At 21.15 they switched off the main lights and music in the restaurant, leaving just the conservatory lights on where we were sitting. It felt like a message to finish our drinks and leave because they wanted to close. I raised it with the restaurant manager, who said there was nobody else there and they wanted to shut. For £200 for the room and £104 for the meal, I expected better customer service. I won’t be coming back.

Aaron, the owner, and Natalie, the co ordinator, kept in touch brilliantly, and the staff were friendly and so helpful throughout. My previous venue had cancelled, and this place came to my rescue. Natalie had everything organised, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing from start to finish. The harbour view was spectacular, and the location was perfect for town and the car parks. We had a BBQ Buffett, served hot and on time, and the guests loved the novelty of it. It tasted amazing, and I could choose what I wanted from a range of ideas. The DJ played from the kitchen hatch, giving us perfect Ibiza vibes, and everyone loved dancing and mingling outside with that view. All the rooms were clean, nicely decorated and had balconies overlooking the harbour. I can’t rate this venue highly enough.

The harbour setting means you’re right among the early activity, which was part of the lovely experience of staying here. The views were better than I could have imagined, and the place sits above the crowds. Great food, served by great people. Many thanks to Aaron and the staff.

We drove down from Preston and got in around 10 PM. Aaron welcomed us so warmly and made sure we felt settled and at home. Our room looked out over the harbour, and the view was stunning, probably the best one, especially with the jacuzzi bath. The food and drinks were great as well. We usually spend a few nights in a hotel before moving to an apartment in Newquay, and we’ll definitely come back here.
