We came for a walking trip with two friends, and the pub is a great base for the trails in South Downs National Park and Serpents Way, as well as exploring historic rural Sussex. It’s owned and run by a local family, and the service was really friendly. The food was superb, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and the three bedrooms have been newly decorated to a very high standard and are well equipped.

We enjoyed dinner so much that we booked Sunday lunch for the next day. The pub had been highly recommended by our hosts, and now we understand why. Fabulous food, lovely surroundings and a really welcoming team. We loved it 🥰 and would definitely go back. If you’re nearby, it’s well worth a visit 🤗

A great place to stay if you’re walking nearby. We spent one night in the comfortable rooms, which have been refurbished to a high standard. The food was delicious, and all the staff were amazing and so helpful. Would love to come back to this perfect country pub with rooms.

The Foresters is, hand on heart, an unbelievable pub. I’ve never been anywhere with such a welcoming atmosphere, such a fun mix of people, excellent food and an experience that was genuinely entertaining. Quite literally the best pub I’ve ever been to.

We visited last Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by how cosy and clean it was, with tasteful decor. I had the delicious roast beef, then pear and apple crumble with ice cream. The crumble might be a challenge if you have weak teeth! The staff were kind and very helpful, going out of their way to assist with the wheelchair. Thank you so much. We’ll be back. Five stars overall 👏👏
