Woodlands Hotel & Pine Lodges

When our nearby Vrbo booking for eight fell through, the team at Woodlands came to our rescue on a Sunday evening, arranging two of their lovely lodges at the last minute. They went out of their way to fit us all in, and couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly. Both lodges were comfortable, clean, and well equipped. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I’m back in the area.

We’ve stayed here many times, and it always feels so homely. This time we spent five peaceful, quiet nights at the hotel for our 35th wedding anniversary. The staff are brilliant and the food is lovely. I can’t praise them highly enough. See you all soon xx

The Birch Cabin made for a fantastic getaway, and we’re already planning to come back. It was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable short break. The sauna and jacuzzi bath were a lovely treat. The location also worked really well, feeling peaceful and secluded while keeping local shops and attractions a short drive away. We had no complaints about the stay. I did leave my jumper behind by accident, and the staff kindly and quickly posted it back to me. Great customer service. Our only small suggestion for families would be a little play area for children. Thanks for a wonderful stay at WHPL. We’ll definitely be back to the Cabins!

It was busy when we dropped by on Saturday evening to ask about a table, and the lively atmosphere made us think we might be out of luck. The friendly staff managed to fit us in, though. I had the fish and chips, which were the best I’ve had: not greasy, with lovely mushy peas and tartar sauce. I really liked the salad too. My partner enjoyed the chicken with tarragon sauce and said it was tasty, and the vegetables were cooked just right. The portions were a good size, not too much.
