Grand At Grasmere

Breakfast was nicely cooked and served at the table, and the staff were friendly. The hotel has a nice bar, lounge and fire, with smart, modern interiors and very good facilities. The views from the restaurant are amazing. Next time, we’ll book a room with a view. We’d chosen a budget “cosy double”, which are mostly upstairs and a little smaller, but they kindly gave us a larger room on the ground floor.

The food has been incredible, which makes the rest of this stay all the more disappointing. We were looking forward to a weekend away, but I’ve been cold throughout our time at The Grand at Grasmere. In Room 2, the shower room feels as if it’s outdoors: the stone floor is freezing, while the towel rail is scalding but doesn’t warm the room. If you want a bath, ask before arriving, because not every room at The Grand at Grasmere has a good bathroom. There’s an amazing fire at The Grand at Grasmere, but one side faces a corridor so you can’t sit there, and the other only seats two to four people, all huddled together. Such a shame. I wish I’d brought my hot water bottle to The Grand at Grasmere in The Lake District.

The service was great, especially when we had an emergency. The woman at reception was very helpful, called an ambulance and checked in on us. We stayed in the top room, where the ceiling was so low you have to bend to walk around, hence the four stars. Otherwise, it was a nice hotel. Thank you.

The room had everything we needed, and breakfast had a great selection. The grand cooked breakfast was beautiful. The food was cooked beautifully, and the staff were fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning.
