The breakfasts were fit for a king, the showers were great, and the bedrooms lovely. There’s ample parking too. Jenny and Jim are as good as hosts get, fun, fit, and so friendly. They couldn’t do enough for us. And no, I’m not a doting relation!

We had such a lovely time at Beck Allans Guest House in Sept. 2025. Jenny & Jim made us feel welcome from the start, and cooked a lovely full English breakfast each morning. It’s in a beautiful, peaceful spot right near the centre. We’re already looking forward to coming back. Thanks!

The breakfast set us up perfectly for our walk, and we wished we’d booked more than one night. Right in the center of Grasmere, the location is spot on. Our room wasn’t large, but it was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a good night’s sleep. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed chatting about the area and the Coast to Coast walk. This place is a real gem, and we’ll definitely return.

We had a fantastic stay at Beck Allans. Jenny and Jim gave us advice on hikes and bike rides around beautiful Grasmere, and even had the nicest Victoria sponge cake waiting when we got back. They also let us leave our bikes somewhere secure and locked. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very well looked after. Breakfast was amazing, with loads of choice and local produce. We’re looking forward to coming back.

Even with Grasmere getting busy, the house felt like a quiet oasis right in the village centre. There’s a terrace by the river where guests can sit and enjoy the peace. Jim and Jenny were friendly and welcoming, and the room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The breakfast was exceptional. What a wonderful place to stay. I’m looking forward to going back.
