The Little Inn At Grasmere

The views were amazing, and the bar food and breakfast were tasty and well presented. The room was lovely, though some of the furniture was scratched or stained. Bar and reception staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. One cleaner wasn't as pleasant: I'd seen her a few times, smiled and said hi, but she ignored me. The other staff more than made up for that.

Manuel, Emma and the rest of the bar and reception staff were fantastic, full of energy and so helpful. They were especially lovely with our dog. The room was nice, and it's great for dogs. I'd definitely recommend staying here. One tip: book a table in advance, as it gets busy. If you have a dog, there are only certain rooms where you can eat.

The staff made us feel incredibly welcome: they were warm, friendly, engaging and hardworking, always with a smile. Our room was huge, beautifully decorated and had lovely local toiletries. The hotel is right in the centre of Grasmere but still very peaceful. It far exceeded our expectations, and we'd definitely return.

The bar and restaurant service was brilliant. Manuel is full of character and makes the bar a pleasure to spend time in. The rooms were filthy and overpriced, and once they'd taken our money, it felt like they weren't bothered. The king suite, at close to £300 a night, needs repairs, especially around the outdoor balcony, which also needs a full deep clean. There were black and curly hairs in the bed. I raised all of this at reception, but they weren't interested. I was told that if I'd brought it up at check-in, they could have offered us another hotel. I booked this hotel specifically, not another one. The receptionist's attitude was very, very poor.
