We booked this for a visit to the Thursford Xmas show, about 17 miles or 30 minutes away. The hotel has 12 rooms, and our room, number 5, was spacious, nicely decorated and had a modern bathroom. From the moment you arrive, Mine Host, Sandra and Team give you a warm welcome. The staff are all friendly and easy to approach. The restaurant had lots of choice and excellent food, while the bar was well stocked with Vask beers, plenty of lagers and spirits, and a good wine list. Breakfast was great too, with options including Smoked Haddock and Grolsti, which was new to me, an Austian dish with bacon, spinach, fried potatoes, onion and a fried egg. This was our first visit, but certainly won't be our last. I can't fault the place. We look forward to coming back 💯 highly recommend.

I was here for a wedding ceremony and had the pork, which was divine. The food was fab, and the evening buffet had an amazing selection, though I don't know if it was just for the wedding. Staff were lovely and willing to help, and the service was good in a well-lit venue with very good facilities. I didn't book a room, so I can't comment on the rooms. The car park is small and at the rear and side, but in this quiet countryside setting I'm sure there'd be roadside parking too.

We were made to feel very welcome, and the staff were polite, helpful and attentive when we asked for more drinks. Dinner had a good variety, with reasonable prices and large portions. Breakfast had so much choice that we didn't need lunch. The hotel is a short drive from lovely walks, and there's ample parking. We plan to return to this lovely hotel before too long. Our bedroom was large and well equipped, though some furnishings looked rather tired. We were told the bedrooms were all due to be refurbished in the Winter. Our front-facing room overlooked the road and was a little noisy from tractors and lorries carrying potatoes, though obviously that isn't a year-round issue. Visited September '25. MrMrs Buck

The roast dinner was absolutely delicious, and the service was fantastic. I asked for extra carrots and they brought them, even though there was already plenty of green veg. I ate here a few weeks ago as well and that meal was really good too. Five-star food, and lots of it.

We booked at the last minute for our Ruby Wedding celebrations. The deluxe double was spacious and well kept, breakfast was freshly cooked to order and very good quality, and dinner one evening was nice too. Service was very good, with pleasant, helpful staff. The one thing that left a sour taste was the dog charge. We booked through booking.com but couldn't add our dog, and mentioned it when we arrived. Nothing was done then, and we're not sure whether the procedures had changed. On the way home I got a call saying my card had been charged £40, at £20 per night. It made me feel as if I'd left without paying the bill. Imagine what a week would cost, simply outrageous.
