The Olde Windmill Inn

There's always a lot going on here, and the staff are lovely. The food was excellent, with a good-sized breakfast, great coffee and plenty of alcohol to choose from. Room prices were great too, and the beds were comfortable in the spacious, quirky rooms. Well worth visiting.

We keep coming back to the windmill for family meals. With our dog and two children, they've always been so accommodating. They'll happily cook meat for the dog and go out of their way for the kids. On our last visit, a gentleman even fetched sprinkles, marshmallows and chocolate sauce for my daughter's ice cream. She was thrilled, and that makes a happy parent. 😊 The portions are such good value, including the children's meals. One meal was enough for my two year old and one year old, with a little left for the dog. 🙈🤣 The food is stunning. I usually stick to scampi, hunters chicken or a burger, but tried the cajan chicken steak last time and loved it.

The staff were really friendly, but I won't be going back. My ploughman's was the worst I've had, basically just a cheese salad with no pickles and soft, cheap supermarket baguette cut in half. And the so-called "Pub classics" menu had dishes I hadn't heard of, without a single classic on it.

Waking up in a pretty village with a bit of snow was lovely. After a nice walk with the dog, we had a superb breakfast, with a great range of gluten and dairy free options. The staff were really friendly. It's a characterful, traditional pub with plenty of rooms, and ours was lovely and comfortable for us and our dog.
