I stayed over Christmas and it felt like the perfect place. The room was huge, the bed really comfortable, and thoughtful touches included fresh coffee and bottled water. The carefully chosen furniture looks great, too. The George is a gem in this beautiful village, in a perfect spot. It's great value if you enjoy walking or have friends nearby. Highly recommended.

Having it be room only suited us, since we wanted to provide all the catering for our guests as if they were staying with us. I booked this room so our friends and their little dog could visit over the bank holiday weekend. It was delightful, well presented and had everything they needed, both the human and canine comforts of home. They spent most of their time exploring the area, with plenty to do, and it was lovely for them to have a relaxing place to come back to after each day's adventures.

The pub below is a local gem, and it closed at 9pm, which meant we had a very quiet night. Our room, No 4 at the George, was huge, clean and very comfortable. The recently renovated rooms have gorgeous original features and furniture, and the access instructions worked well. Thanks.
