Hotel Ocean

We needed two rooms for a short stay in the area for a family event. Both were clean and nicely proportioned. The staff made a great impression as soon as we arrived. We also had lunch, with some amazing sandwiches, and the breakfast was good quality and made to order.

We live only an hour away and like spending a day by the sea, so we'll be back before long. Everyone at the Ocean made our pre-Christmas treat special. This was our second stay at the seafront hotel, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. We brought my in-laws for a night away and to see the Christmas Spectacular Show at the Hippodrome. They stayed in the Seaview suite, where they could have tea and watch the sea and the Christmas lights come on. Our double room at the back was comfortable, though a few things needed attention. We still slept well. After the show, we had a nightcap in the lovely hotel lounge. My husband wanted crisps with his drink, and one of the accommodating team went out to buy a packet. Such great service. At breakfast, the young woman serving was cheerful and very efficient despite having several walk-ins and residents to look after. My poached eggs were exceptional, and so was the fruit salad. Thank you all.

We stopped for a meal because the place looked inviting from outside. The sophisticated, luxurious decor made it a comfortable experience, and the food was outstanding. The service felt so friendly and homely, with the staff going out of their way to make sure we were happy and nothing felt like too much trouble. We've found our new favourite place to eat when we're in Great Yarmouth.

We came in for lunch and drinks twice. The menu looked great, and both the food and drinks were excellent. Staff were attentive and friendly. I'd come back any time.
