We spent our first wedding anniversary here on 23rd Augudt 2025. The room was tidy and clean, and they even gave us roses for the occasion. Everyone was so helpful, nothing seemed like too much trouble. It’s close to both town and beach. Excellent, and thank you!
We brought our two shih tzus and stayed in the dog room. It was lovely and clean, with everything we and the dogs needed. The owner even cooked breakfast for our dogs, as well as a yummy full English for us. The stay was excellent, and the owner really goes above and beyond. Highly recommended, I’d give it more than 100 stars if I could.
The parking was the one snag. It’s a permit area with no parking at the B&B, though luckily we had a blue badge and could park on double yellows. Otherwise, we had a really enjoyable one-night stay and will return. Great value for money, with a good breakfast selection from cornflakes to a full English. The family were very nice, and the room had a comfortable king-size bed and a big TV. There was plenty of tea and coffee, not just one teabag, and it’s dog friendly too. We’d booked a cheap B&B and weren’t expecting much, so we were pleasantly surprised.
Breakfast was good, and they even had a sausage for the dog, but we didn’t enjoy the stay and left after the first night, despite having paid for the second. The owner was lovely and friendly, but the dog-themed rooms felt over the top for us, even as dog lovers. She encouraged us to let our large dog onto the small single bed in the family room, which I assume was meant for a child. Our dog doesn’t sleep on beds, and I didn’t want to encourage it. There was so much furniture in the tiny room that we had to walk sideways between the bed and wardrobe. Our dog brushed past there too and left hair along the bed, which was already covered in dog hair before we arrived. There were lots of cobwebs. The ensuite was too small for a sink, so handwashing had to happen in the bedroom. Our room was on the second floor, meaning three flights of stairs for the dog, which seemed impractical and unnecessary. The last flight was extremely steep even for us. The double bed was two large singles pushed together, and the gap made it hard to cuddle. It was also far too big for the room. Parking was a nightmare too. We got a street permit from the owner, but there was still nowhere to park, certainly not outside the property. Sorry, we won’t be back.
We slept badly because the heating stayed on full blast the whole time. Apart from that, the location is perfect, the price is reasonable, and the room was lovely with really friendly staff. I’d recommend it, especially if you feel the cold easily! :-)
