The Harbour

We had a great view over the harbour, and the seafront and amazing beach were only a short walk away. At the Harbour Hotel, the owners were so welcoming, the food was amazing, and those smoked herrings at breakfast are a must. Our rooms were spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. It felt like a home from home. We’ll definitely return, thank you.

Gorleston is peaceful, with big sandy beaches that feel safe. It seems ideal for young families or anyone after some quiet, while Yarmouth is about ten minutes away if you want more activity or somewhere else to visit. There’s a lovely beach to the right and the port, warehouses and manufacturing to the left. We heard no noise, and the passing ships were interesting, though the view toward the port isn’t beautiful. Maybe that helps keep things quiet. You can’t have everything. We’d definitely come again. Breakfast was great too, with cereal, toast and a cooked option, but the locally caught and smoked kippers were the best, delicious! We’ve stayed in plenty of B&Bs over the years, and my wife and I both thought Vince and Aura were the friendliest and most helpful hosts we’ve had. The room was comfortable and suited us, with a newly done, very nice ensuite bathroom, Satellite TV, DVD and wifi.

The hosts were friendly and lovely. There’s no breakfast, but we didn’t mind. We could get up whenever we liked and pick up breakfast just around the corner. Our room was clean and lovely, and there was a nice sun room where we could sit with a cuppa and read.

The balcony views are amazing, and some rooms look out over the harbour too. We’ve been coming every year since Vince and Aura opened. They’re a really friendly, welcoming couple, and it’s a wonderful place to stay.
