We'd seen some bad reviews and were hesitant to book, but our stay was amazing. The room was spacious and clean, and the TV was a really good size, which you don't often get in hotel rooms. It was refreshed in the morning, which we hadn't expected for a two-night visit. The whole place smelled clean and newly decorated, and it's close to both the beach and town centre. We'd been a bit unprepared for the journey, but they made us feel very welcome and gave us four bottles of ice-cold water for free. A lovely touch in that weather. We parked on the street for £5 per 24-hour period, and you can get a visitor pass at reception. Really, I can't think of a bad thing to say.

The receptionist was friendly, and the location is close to all the attractions. But my room wasn't very clean, with bits of rubbish under the bed, and I didn't sleep well because of noise both inside and outside.

We booked this hotel at the last minute and were very glad we did. The owner was helpful and polite, and carried our case up to the room. It's a great price for the location, just a few minutes' walk from the seafront. Our newly refurbished room had an immaculate bathroom and was cleaned daily. We'd stay again and recommend it.

Wendy was amazing. She does everything and really couldn't do more to make guests happy. We asked if we could keep the room for a few extra hours while waiting for our coach, and she said no problem. The breakfast was very nice, four of us for £9. The decor looks dated, but the hotel is first rate. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and it's quiet, which is nice. The beach is less than a five-minute walk away. We're just about to leave and wanted to leave a review. Can't wait to come back.

Jackie, who recently bought The Cavendish House with his wife, was very attentive during our overnight stay. The hotel clearly needs a lot of work, and he's working on it. We had a reasonably priced room with a shower and two single beds. They weren't the most comfortable, but they did the job. The breakfast was delicious, the beach is less than five minutes away, and the weather was fantastic. We'll return with friends and family in future. Can't wait.
