I wouldn’t stay here again. One star feels too generous. If you’re after a bargain, maybe try the allegedly bed-bug infested place next door, as you might get a better night than here. This hotel felt like a waking nightmare, with seedy people around, some seeming to be paid for their services or waiting for a drug dealer. The room was even worse. I was afraid to sit on the toilet in case I caught something, and didn’t want to put my head on the bed in case something crawled into it, so I slept in a sleeping bag. The press-board walls were stained and coming away at every corner, though the couch had even more stains. The non-smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes, with a cheap Poundland air freshener torn up and stuffed into the heating unit to try to cover it. The check-in attendant was pleasant, though rather pushy about getting me to write a good review because there was lots of competition. At checkout, the attendant was extremely rude. He pointed to a stack of cheap mini muffins they called their “continental breakfast” and shouted, “It’s fine! Take muffin!” I politely declined, but he got more insistent and said, “No. You will take a muffin.” I’d planned to pay in cash, so finding that they’d charged my credit card without my confirmation made me anxious.

DO NOT USE! The manager was vile. He rips you off if you book through booking.com, saying he hasn’t received the booking, then booking you through his own company to get paid twice. I tried to stay polite to get my money back. He blamed booking.com, even though they showed me that he’d rejected it twice, and he abused and threatened both me and my mother.

The room was clean and tidy, and for £70 it was about what we expected. There’s probably work that could be done, but it suited what we paid for. The location was just right for our plans, especially as it was our first visit. The gentleman was lovely and friendly, explained what we needed to know, and helped us with parking. We were very pleased and will definitely come back 😁

The location was perfect, and once we managed to get in touch, the staff were somewhat helpful. Getting into the property was a nightmare, though, and the pillows were so flat and the mattress so bad that I barely slept. I was exhausted from tossing and turning. The amenities were okay, but the place could use a deep clean and the wallpaper needs gluing back down. There was damp in the room, which made my daughter's asthma worse and caused her to wheeze. For the price, it could have been a much better stay if these things were sorted.

I booked, but never ended up staying. They didn’t reply to emails, barely answered the phone, and even seemed to be avoiding messages from booking.com. The man who did answer told me that dealing with booking matters was above his pay grade. Very reassuring. Something definitely seems dodgy here.
