The hotel made a welcoming first impression on my first visit to Grouville. Vince, the manager, was helpful and cheerful, and the restaurant and bar team were warm too. We had dinner there on our first evening and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast had a good spread of hot and cold choices, with hot drinks brought to the table. Our ground-floor room was clean and fairly roomy, with its own patio entrance. It had a TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee, towels, and toiletries. There’s a bus stop right across the road for St Helier, Gorey beach is an easy walk, and a small supermarket is close by. I couldn’t try the pool because of a storm, though there was lots of seating around it. The reading room opens onto the poolside patio, and there’s also a bar lounge and parking behind the hotel. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

The staff were excellent, and the bus stop is nearby. I enjoyed the breakfasts during my four-night stay. The hotel was lovely, though the bedroom furniture looked a little worn. Thank you.

My mum and I had a wonderful week. Getting around was easy with the regular buses, and there are lovely beaches throughout the beautiful area. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we thought the food was very good. The pool space was lovely, with towels for the pool and cushions on the loungers. There’s even a library area that opens straight onto the pool.

Breakfast was lovely, with a great range of choices, but the bar food wasn’t worth the money. The room and bathroom were in very poor shape. On my first night, one towel had an orange stain, so I couldn’t use it. The shower was old and dirty, and there was mould across the bathroom ceiling and walls. The carpet looked dirty and barely cleaned, and after the sheets were changed, I found a yellow stain on the fresh bedding. I stayed four nights, and this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

We stayed with friends while touring Jersey’s battlefield sites by motorcycle. The location was great, with bars and restaurants an easy walk away, all beneath a beautiful medieval castle.
