The Anglers Inn

We went as a group of five for the first carvery, and the food was perfection. They even cooked the meat to different preferences, which you don't usually get with a carvery. The service was phenomenal, and the cheesecake was to die for. I was gutted I didn't take any home, though I was in a food coma, which is why this review's so late. It's definitely a place to go when the carvery is on. The village location is ideal and brings people to an area worth visiting. Top notch 👌.

We'd booked an early dinner at the Anglers Arms and everything was delicious, with excellent value. The owner who greeted us was polite and attentive throughout our short visit. I had fresh mussels in cream and garlic, with chips and lovely French toast to mop up the sauce. My partner enjoyed the Greek style flatbread, and our son liked his meat feast pizza. Couldn't fault it. Just what we wanted, thanks to the owners ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👌🏽

We used to love eating here, but we won't return unless the people running the place are replaced. Most of the flat iron steak we ordered, about three quarters, was inedible. One staff member was rude and sarcastic, and even went into the kitchen to wave an uncooked steak in its little bag at us. Stay away, folks.

Our booking got mixed up, and we arrived after food service had stopped. There was plenty left from the carvery, though, so they invited us in to eat. The staff were busy clearing equipment away but still went out of their way to help, even walking our dog while we plated up. He got food, water, a blanket, and a doggy bag for his tea tomorrow. They chatted with our children and made sure they were happy and had enough to eat. The food was good and reasonably priced. We'll visit again before our holiday here ends. And as a Yorkshire woman, I can make a proper good yorky pud. That previous reviewer obviously doesn't know what they're talking about, they were fine.
