Maple Cottage B&B

Heather made our stay so special. It was a surprise birthday trip for my partner, and she went out to get a few things for him, even arranging a cake with his age on the candles. I can't thank her enough. We had two nights of amazing sleep in the extremely comfortable beds, and the breakfast was beautiful with plenty to choose from. The B&B is gorgeous and homely, close enough to walk to Gullane beach, Gullane centre and other places. Having a car makes getting around from Gullane easy, and Heather also helped us plan our trip into Edinburgh so we could avoid driving into the centre. She gave us all the information we needed. We can't wait to return!

The breakfast was a real highlight, a 10/10 with something for every taste, including yoghurt, fruit, seeds and nuts. The rooms were spotless and roomy, the beds comfortable, and Bailey, Heather’s dog, made the B&B feel like home. There’s a little fridge upstairs in the hallway stocked with water, milk and snacks for guests. I came for two nights for a wedding nearby. The location worked perfectly, and without a car, getting here from Edinburg and to the neighbouring small towns by bus was easy. Heather was kind and accommodating, with directions and tips for restaurants and local things to see and do. She's a wonderful guide and a one of a kind host. I really enjoyed my time and will definitely come back to explore more of the surrounding area, including the northern lights, and have more good chats with Heather.

Heather was very welcoming, with teas and coffees available throughout, and breakfast was even better than a hotel breakfast. The Maple Cottage B&B is a delightful place, and Heather's attention to detail shows everywhere. My room had everything I needed and was comfortable and tidy. I'd definitely return if I'm in town.

Heather made me feel right at home, and I didn't want to leave. My room at Maple cottage was the perfect size, spotless and really comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, cooked to order and good quality. Heather was a superb host and knew loads about the area and things to do. Looking forward to staying again, 10/10.
