I’ve been here several times and loved it every time. The service is amazing, the food is spectacular, and credit to the chef. The whole atmosphere in this lovely inn/pub is great, and there’s a lovely dog called Berty too. I’d really recommend coming to the bush.

We chose The Bush for a family birthday lunch because it was central for everyone. Some of the group were delayed by motorway traffic, but the staff were patient and accommodating while we waited. Once we’d all arrived and ordered, the food came quickly and looked great. The steak sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, the fish finger sandwich was fabulous, and the chips were among the best we’ve tasted. Lovely atmosphere, helpful attentive staff, good food, and a pretty garden with a wonderful view. We’ll definitely return.

The menu wasn’t huge, but what we had was fantastic in portion size, quality, and taste. Our group tried fish, chips and peas, a burger, and banoffee pudding. It’s a lovely, friendly pub, and dogs are welcome. You can sit inside or outside. I’d recommend giving it a try if you’re nearby.

We came to The Bush for supper just before 7 on Friday, as we’ve done many times before. The lovely back garden was closed, and while the front tables were fairly busy, there were only four people at one table inside. The food options were just mushroom fajitas, chicken burgers, and some sort of platter. Fish and chips had been listed but were already sold out. The broadband was down, and when I tried checking the website, it said the pub was closed, which is out of date. I wonder if it’s about to shut. That would be a real shame: the Carpenters Arms, Llanishen is closed and the Star, Llansoy has closed, so The Bush is the nearest one left and should be busy, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The setting is beautiful and the staff were really friendly. We had lunch, and everything was tasty, freshly prepared, and locally sourced. The only downside was the small lunch menu, though they’d only been there six weeks, so I can see why they kept it limited. They did what they do and did it well. Excellent.
