The Rock & Fountain has a lovely historic building and courtyard, with a lot of charm and comfortable dining. The staff were wonderfully friendly, helping us to our table and seeing us off with wishes for a safe journey home. It feels like a special, distinctive place for a celebration or simply a good meal. The food was unbelievably delicious, and the kitchen clearly puts care and skill into what it serves. Prices felt fair and affordable. You don’t have to take my word for it, go and enjoy the care they put into their cooking. The Rock and Fountain is a memorable place to eat.

Alison looked after us really well, and we were never made to feel rushed. It was lovely to spend a couple of hours catching up with my friend over lunch, which I’d happily recommend. I took her out for her birthday and had a lovely meal. The gammon was very thick and there was plenty of it, with pineapple and egg available if you wanted them.

The Rock and Fountain made my 30th birthday feel really special. It’s a beautiful building, and it’s dog friendly too. I had Sunday roast with my family, and we all thought every dish was amazing. The food was delicious, and the servers were wonderful. Thank you x

The owners kindly let us stay overnight in our motorhome, which we really appreciated. We had a lovely evening at the pub, and it was clearly very popular from how busy it was. The staff stayed cheerful and helpful despite the obvious pressure of serving so much food and drink. It’s very much a dining pub, with little room to prop up the bar, though a couple of locals were doing just that. Butty Bach was an excellent pint and worth trying. We chose the two-course menu for £19.50, which had plenty of options. We both had fish and chips for our mains. The batter was oozing oil and made it quite unpalatable, so I picked it off and ate the fish, which was fine. The starters were very good, as was the dessert we added. Would I go back to the R&F? Most definitely. I’m sure you’d enjoy the experience too.

There’s loads of parking and seating, and it’s really easy to get to. We came for Sunday lunch recently and were blown away by the quality of the food and service. It’s just a really lovely place for a roast. Can’t wait to come back for more soon!
