The Griffin

The hospitality from the whole staff was among the best we’ve ever experienced. We stayed for one night while in town for a local gig, and the room was great, with a lovely breakfast and huge portions. What a gem. Absolutely brilliant, and we’re looking forward to coming back 👌.

Stephen the landlord went out of his way to make our stay a good one, even offering help when we had trouble with a flat tyre. We stayed two nights and couldn’t fault anything. The room was spacious, the bed really comfy, and the food was great too. Thank you :)

The room was clean and very comfortable, and we were greeted with a smile by friendly people when we arrived for a nearby wedding. But there was no food available because of kitchen problems, which was really inconvenient. We had to find somewhere else to eat in pouring rain. The price stayed the same even though they couldn’t offer any food at all, which was very disappointing.

I asked if I could look at the rooms for a future stay, and they were all beautifully presented, above average in quality. We came for Sunday dinner and were welcomed by friendly bar staff. There was a choice of meats with the usual vegetables, and you could order two sizes. The larger one had extra meat and veg plus two amazing Yorkshire puddings. Food was reasonably priced, as were the wide range of drinks, which were in line with local pub prices. The outdoor and lounge areas were welcoming and quiet enough for us to use. A great little inn with good food and staff.
