We slept better here than we have in years. The bedrooms were clean and nice, the beds really comfortable, and it was so quiet. The kitchen became our gathering spot for meals, planning outings and board games. The old cottage is modern inside, despite being near a busy road, and the welcome was lovely, with homemade scones, lemon drizzle cake, jam and eggs. It’s a great base for Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Hadrian’s Wall, Carlisle, Gretna Green, Keilder Water and Forest, and Hexham are all within reach, and Bamburgh is a 90 minute drive away. There are loads of nearby walks too. Haltwhistle is a gem, with restaurants, takeaways and shops, including a small Sainsbury’s and Co-Op, to cover what you need. I’d definitely come back.

Such a lovely area, and the place is out of this world. The owners have thought of absolutely everything, and it’s spotlessly clean.

The coach house was brilliant, cosy and clean, and the garden was a beautiful spot to relax. We got a lovely welcome pack, including a treat for our dog. The hosts were absolutely lovely and did all they could to make us comfortable. We can’t recommend it enough and are already looking forward to booking again!

The children were overjoyed to find the chickens up at the top of the beautiful garden. We had a superb week at old brewery cottage and couldn’t have asked for more. Jacqueline greeted us with a welcome pack of bacon, eggs, home made scones, home made jam, lemon drizzle cake, a bottle of wine and treats for our dog. Every room was clean and comfortable, and Jacqueline had thought of the things we might have forgotten. Thank you so much. I’m recommending you to my mom and a friend, who both want to visit. Either of your properties would be perfect for them.

We’ve returned to the cottage several times since 2017, and it always feels like a comfortable home from home. After a busy day volunteering with the Vindolanda Trust, just ten minutes away, we love having the generous kitchen, cosy bedrooms and plenty of shared areas to relax in.
