The countryside around the hotel was beautiful, and it was still an easy drive to bigger towns. We had a lovely room with everything we needed, and the price was really good. The food was good too, with a nice range of beers and ales. It seems popular with locals as well. Probably one of the best stays I've had in the UK. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

We couldn't stay for Sunday lunch, which was a shame, but we'll be back. The pub and restaurant were fantastic, especially breakfast, with fresh, high quality produce, and our room was lovely too. We booked at the last minute on our way to a wedding, and the staff were so helpful. When we couldn't find a taxi back to the venue to collect our car, the owner even offered us a lift, despite it being about a 20-minute drive. Absolutely fantastic place to stay.

The food was the real highlight. I ordered the braised beef pie both nights we were there, and it was amazing, made on site. My wife enjoyed some of the specials, and there was a nice range on the menu. The service was 5 star, and so was the Blackberry cider. We only stayed two nights, needing a dog-friendly place while we were in the area. Hanmer Arms looked good and was 15 minutes from where we needed to be. The rooms were really good too, and it's under new management.

The building has a great feel to it, and the ambience was lovely. We had the carvery a few weeks ago, really tasty, and we'll be back.

It was my first visit since moving to the area, and I was surprised by how beautiful the whole place was. There were 12 of us for a birthday meal, and the staff were friendly, professional and patient. We didn't wait long, the food came out together, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Brilliant place, easily five stars and more.
