Chris was really attentive to us when my family and I went to the west park for Valentine's Day. As the restaurant filled up, though, the food took longer to arrive. The starters were delicious, and the steaks my family ordered were cooked well. My monkfish wrapped in prosciutto or Parma ham, with seafood linguine, was another story. It tasted so briny that I couldn't eat it, and sending it back only got me a replacement that tasted exactly the same. I wondered whether the chef had tried it. For a place charging premium prices, the food quality was unexpectedly disappointing.

We spent a fantastic couple of nights in the Brunswick Penthouse Suite at The West Park Hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the hotel is in a great part of town, an easy short walk from the centre. Everyone on staff was friendly, from check-in through check-out. Highly recommended, and I hope to return soon.

The penthouse suite is a lovely choice for a romantic weekend or a few days of treating yourself. It has two en-suites, a dressing room, a very large bedroom, and a nice living area. The food was excellent, and Borus from the head of house team was lovely too. I've stayed at The West Park several times, as well as at other Harrogate hotels, and this is easily the best I've found. Another great stay, with friendly staff, good service, and lovely food.

The restaurant is a real gem, with great service from Boris and the team. The chef is turning out amazing dishes, even if he's an Everton fan, which I won't hold against him. Our meal was sublime, and the sticky toffee pudding was better than what you'll find in its hometown of Cartmel. A real treat. The hotel itself was very comfortable and chic, one of the best in the area.

For the second year running, we held our annual Ladies Christmas lunch at the west park, and had the best time. Paulo and his team were excellent, with food and service second to none. The complimentary fizz with the festive menu was a lovely touch. Thanks again, and looking forward to seeing you all next year. Virginia 🎄
