(This is a review of the inn) The room was neat, clean, and practical, and the staff were really friendly. It was great value for money. My one regret is the music is really, really loud until 1am, making it impossible to sleep properly.

Great atmosphere, and beer at a reasonable price.

That was really kind of the staff member, offering me a lift to Harwich International before my ferry the next morning. I’d arrived at Shakers around 9pm for the night, and the friendly staff welcomed me as soon as I came in and showed me to my room.

A real little gem in the old part of town. Our dog was welcomed with a bowl of water, and the barmaid had a great sense of humour. The atmosphere was brilliant, and there’s a small outdoor area if you need to cool off.

The modern interior gives Shakers a lively feel, and the service was excellent. It’s a welcoming spot for drinks with friends, a casual meal or a special occasion, with cocktails, wine, beer and food on offer. It seems popular with both locals and visitors. For current menu details, events or opening hours, you’d need to check their social media or contact the venue.
