The pool water was warm, and although lots of people were on the loungers, the pool itself was almost empty. I also liked that there are family swimming hours. Breakfast was nice, the bar cocktails were great, and our room was spacious, very clean, and had a separate lounge area. A great weekend getaway for families. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with our toddler. I’d recommend it for a relaxing family break.

The wild forests around the hotel would be lovely to see in summer, when there’s more to look at. The room was clean, modern and tidy, and the sauna by the pool was good, though very hot. The cold showers weren’t working, and the cold bucket took too long to refill. A plunge pool would really improve the experience. There was a blocked drain in the room, but staff sorted it after I reported it. Otherwise, a nice place to rest.

Leah was an absolute star when I had booking mistakes. She sorted things out without any stress and found me a new room the next day in a perfect location, so moving was easy. Thanks for making the whole experience great, and for brightening reception with your warm, friendly smile.

I stayed here four weeks across three months while travelling for work. The hotel sits in big grounds surrounded by countryside, and the original buildings have loads of character. The staff are very friendly, attentive and always happy to help. I can’t remember everyone’s names, but the very tall man in the bar was professional, and the woman at reception was especially nice. Room 301 was the best of the rooms I stayed in during my stops here. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m in the area.
