The staff were kind, but the place was so grimy that I wouldn't recommend it. The shared toilets looked unclean, and my room had a hole in the floor, cigarette burns on the bed, and a horrible old care-home smell that lingered. Then I spotted a bedbug in the bed, which ruined the stay completely. Don't come here, even for Slamdunk festival. Spend extra and stay somewhere else.

The White House was a real help to me. It's a budget guest house, just somewhere to sleep for the night, so bring food from elsewhere rather than expecting a hotel. Check-in is self-service, though you can get help by phone if needed. Thanks to Owner Tony, Sarah, one of the Business Managers, and Apple, Dee and the rest of the team for making this affordable place available. Kudos, and thanks again to Tony and The White House Team.

All the essentials are close by, and the University of Hertfordshire is just nearby too. For students staying here, getting around should be really convenient.

The photos can't be trusted. The room had a bottle of pee in it and smelled awful. It was filthy, the worst place I've seen. I didn't care about getting a refund, I just wanted to leave.

For the price, it was pretty good, and nowhere near as bad as the reviews had led me to expect 🤷🏻♂️. The room was warm and clean enough, with a sink and, for some reason, a fridge. It got a little noisy because the window didn't close properly, but I could still sleep. The place needs maintenance, and the door locks were unreliable at times.
