The bathroom was nice, and the bed was really comfortable. The room itself was simple, but clean.

The food was very good, and it’s a really quiet spot. The staff were helpful and polite too. The rooms are a bit dated, but good value for the money. I’d recommend staying, especially in one of the larger rooms if one is available.

The bar was shut because of unforeseen circumstances. Rose and Crown has been turned into an Indian restaurant, and the hallway smelled of curry. The room had been converted very badly from an x bathroom into a standard double. See the images.

I’ve ordered from the Rose and Crown Hotel four days running and the food has been delicious every time. The quality and prices still impress me. Today’s meal was only £14.95, a real bargain. The staff are lovely and friendly, so I’ll definitely keep coming back.

The room was basic, as I expected for £60 a night, and the bed was super comfortable. I didn’t try the food, though it smelled amazing. Checking in was a bit odd: I arrived at the set time on Monday night, but the hotel, pub and restaurant were all closed, with signs saying the bar was shut Mondays and Tuesdays. Another guest happened to be leaving and let me in. The place was empty, but after a couple of phone calls a very polite, friendly receptionist checked me in and helped me register for parking and get my key.
