The White Hart Inn

There were five of us in my family for Sunday lunch on 18th January 2026, and we had a fantastic meal. Everything was cooked perfectly, with a good choice of vegetables. I had the black forest trifle for dessert, which was delicious and very moreish, and washed it down with a nice pint of lager. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely come again.

My wife ordered chicken for Sunday lunch and I went for the braised lamb. Both were exceptional. The meat tasted like meat, which you don’t find everywhere these days, and the ingredients were fresh and good quality. We were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. Well done to everyone.

A warm welcome, good drinks and really nice food. My husband had the Reuben toastie with salt and pepper fries, which was amazing. I chose the mince beef and potato pie, a huge serving with veg and excellent triple cooked chunky chips. Worth a visit.

We had two meals here over New Year, dinner one evening and lunch on New Year’s Day, and both were excellent. The food had a good range of choices, especially for the two vegetarians in our party of six. The photos are of the lovely beers, some dishes from the two visits and the range fireplace. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful both times. We’ve visited in past years and found them the same then. New Year must be a stressful, challenging stretch for hospitality, and they were brilliant.
