My daughter's £200 Sun Holiday booking was better than my caravan in almost every way. We both booked through the same site, but I paid directly for what was described as an equivalent luxury, pet-free caravan with a sea view. I paid over £500 for four nights, and the accommodation fell far short of that description. The sea view was barely visible without significant effort. The flooring was all laminate, with no carpeting; the sofas were leatherette, not fabric; and there were no scatter cushions or net curtains. It didn't feel like the pet-free or luxury environment I expected. Opening the bedroom curtains left us directly overlooked by neighbouring decking and living areas, so people could see into the bedroom. Net curtains would have helped. My daughter's caravan included fabric sofas, scatter cushions, net curtains throughout, carpeting in the living area, a dishwasher, two shower rooms and a large decking area. The children's entertainment was minimal, with a short bubble-machine session and little else. The sing-alongs were enjoyable, but Bear in the Woods appeared only once. The swimming pool was basic and uncomfortably cold. When I raised my concerns with reception, the response was dismissive: I was told this was their luxury standard and nothing could be done. I was handed a card and told to leave a review if unhappy. The price and unhelpful staff made this a very disappointing stay. I wouldn't return. I'd choose another park, such as St Minver Holiday Park, where both accommodation quality and customer service are significantly better.

We had quality family time during the Xmas season at this gem in Cornwall. Everyone had their own bedroom, and the chalet was spacious enough for wheelchair use. The shower was far too narrow for an average-sized man, and even for us females it was a tight squeeze, with our shoulders touching the walls. The water temperature was amazing, as was the central heating. Highly recommend. We'll definitely return in summer. Thank you from Melloy Field 120.

The location was perfect for us: a short walk through the sand dunes takes you to a deserted beach, and there are good public transport links to St Ives and elsewhere. We went at the start of the season, so it was nice and quiet. The girls looking after the toilet blocks and showers did a fantastic job. They were always clean and presentable.

The kids' club party team were friendly and fabulous every night, getting everyone involved in dancing and entertainment games. The beach is incredible, with crystal-clear water and soft golden sand, and the bar and restaurant have a perfect sunset view over it. The park on the beach is great for children. Our clean, well-stocked caravan was perfect for self-catering, and the swimming pool was good. It's great value, and we've booked to return this summer. The location is great, close to other popular towns and beaches. My only downside was the hard track back up the sand dunes when leaving the beach, especially while carrying young children and bags. Definitely recommend.

A great spot right in front of the beach. I had a campervan and used the camping area, which has a lovely view but catches all the wind. The site has a bistro overlooking a small indoor pool, an on-site Nisa shop that's very expensive, and a range of accommodation. The showers and toilets were basic and tired, and the outdoor dishwashing area was too. For the bus, turn right from the entrance; the stop is across the road from the Hogan's way junction. Routes 14 and 18 are useful. Taking a bus is easier, since the streets of St ives are tight and parking is scarce. It isn't a very pretty site. I understand that landscaping among the dunes is difficult, but planting suited to the environment or adding raised beds would improve it.
